Compay Eco Safari invites you to discover and enjoy the genuine Dominican culture on an adventure aboard modified 6×6 trucks. We will depart the Punta Cana area heading for Higuey, the largest city to the east of the Dominican Republic.

This travesty will first takes us to a local school sponsored by Compay Eco Safari sponsored as part of community-based project benefiting children in nearby towns by providing them with elementary education.

We will cross vast sugar cane fields, commonplace in this area of the Dominican Republic and emblematic of one the country’s most important export.

We will visit one of the country’s most important religious monuments, the Higuey Basilica, a modern Catholic sanctuary erected to honor the Virgin of Altagracia, patron saint of the Dominican Republic.
On our way out of town, we head towards the Central Cordillera, which has an average height of 800 meters above sea level. You will experience the Dominican countryside in all its splendor and given the opportunity to taste products produced locally, such as cocoa, coffee, tobacco and “Mamajuana”, a traditional Dominican elixir, sought after for its aphrodisiac ingredients.

Take a brief horseback ride to our ranch,  where an open Dominican-style buffet lunch will be waiting.

As we end our journey, we make our way to Playa Macao, one of the most beautiful beaches in the region, recognized by UNESCO as one of the best beaches of the Caribbean. Enjoy and invigorating before heading back to your hotel.
